Frequently Asked QuestionsBelow are some of the questions we're asked most frequently. Please read through these before contacting us! What is the purpose of Dr. Sloth's Image Emporium? Quite frankly, if you have ever wanted to look for a Neopets image to use on your userlookup or petpage, there is no easy way to do it. Google could be a bit helpful, but Googlebot does not have access to all of the images that are behind the Neopets login screen. So, we decided to make a database filled with as many tagged images that we could possibly find. We hope to be helpful to graphic designers who want to find nice images to use in their designs, and anyone who needs stock Neopets images for whatever they are creating. How do I use search? Simply type in some search terms at the top of the page in the search box. More key words will narrow your search and only return images tagged with your key words. What are the special search prefixes? You can use a couple of prefixes to narrow your search: width:X - Return only images that are X pixels wide. For example, 150px width images. height:X - Return only images that are X pixels high. For example, 200px height images. maxwidth:X - Return only images that are X pixels or less wide. For example, images wider than or equal to 350px. minwidth:X - Return only images that are X pixels or more wide. For example, images narrower than or equal to 50px. maxheight:X - Return only images that are X pixels or less high. For example, images higher than or equal to 350px. minheight:X - Return only images that are X pixels or more high. For example, images shorter than or equal to 50px. inurl:... - Return only images that have your keyword in the image URL. For example, images with "ylana" in the URL. type:X - Return only images that have a file extension of X. Some valid X-values are PNG, GIF, JPG, BMP, etc. For example, all PNG images. incat:X - Return only images that are in a certain category ID. For IDs, check out the categories page. Click on a link, and then you will get a search which you can add key words to. For example, images in the "Maps" category. (Parent category searches also return all images in subcategories.) (word) - Return only images that have a tag matching exactly. For example, images tagged cat, but not caricature.-word - Place a - in front of any search key word (including width:, height:, etc.) and it will act as a "not" operator which returns images not relevant to your key word. For example, images containing "sloth" but not "draw" and not "battledome". Those sound complicated. Indeed, the search prefixes can be a bit difficult to remember if you do not use DrSloth.com frequently, so instead, you might want to check out our advanced search page. It is a standard search form to fill out that constructs a query for you with the prefixes in place. Are there any search limits? Yes, we will only process the first 15 words in your search string. A search prefix, like "height:200", also counts as one word. Why are there advertisements displayed on DrSloth.com? The advertisements on DrSloth.com earn us no revenue and are only there for fun. For more information on why DrSloth.com serves advertisements, please click here for a full history of why Dr. Sloth believes in Internet advertising. I know of an image that you are missing! If you cannot find an image in our database, please send in the URL through our missing images page. What images do you not include? We currently do not include item images (see our Item Database), user generated content (like NT comics, art gallery images, etc.), foreign language images (like images from the Chinese or Spanish versions of the site), and images from Petpetpark.com. We also only include images exclusively from images.neopets.com, so you will not find customised pet images from pets.neopets.com in our database. (It would be awful to try and keep those up to date...) I've noticed that an image you have is missing an important tag, or it has a tag that is totally unnecessary. If you do come across something like this, visit the image info page (where you can see the tags) and click the "Edit Tags" button. A staff member will need to review your changes first, but you can add new tags and mark off existing tags that are not important. Who runs DrSloth.com? DrSloth.com is a department of Jellyneo.net. We are the same staff and everything... we just wanted to use a cool domain to house this project! :) Dr. Sloth also provides some oversight as he sees fit. But we do not let that influence how we run the site. All hail Sloth! Who are Penelope, Hector and Hestia? Penelope, Hector and Hestia are three little grundobots who help us build up the image database! Penelope is responsible for adding new images to the database, and Hector methodically goes through and adds dimensions to all of the images. Hestia was also a bit of help with tagging and helped us tag several thousand images! |
